Toyota Issues Voluntary Recall For Petrol Version of Innova Crysta & Fortunner
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has issued Voluntary Recall for 2,628 units of the Innova Crysta MPV and the Fortuner SUV. This recall is for replacing a faulty fuel hose routing.
The recall covers petrol-powered Innova Crysta and Fortuner units, manufactured between 18 July 2016 and 22 March 2018, to inspect fuel hose routing and correct if required. Also Fortuner models produced between 6th October 2016 and 22nd March 2018 have also been recalled.
The Japanese car maker issued an official statement that reads “Toyota Kirloskar Motor [ 3rd July ] announced a voluntary Recall / Special Service Campaign ( SSC ) in India as a measure of abundant precaution. In line with its commitment to Safety first & Customer Satisfaction, the company is implementing this recall in India to inspect fuel hose routing and correct if required for select/limited vehicles manufactured between 18th July 2016 to 22nd March 18. This is applicable to gasoline models only. Toyota dealers will inform the concerned customers soon. Customers with any questions or concerns can contact the nearest dealer or call the Customer Assistance Centre @ toll – free no 1800-425-0001 for diagnosis and if applicable, repair.”
Concerned customers will individually be contacted by Toyota dealers across the country. Customers can also contact dealers to know if their vehicle is a part of the recall.
This recall will not affect many as the major chunk of the Innova Crysta and Fortuner are in the diesel versions.
