Volvo Posts Growth of 28% for 2017, Sells 2029 Units
Volvo India has registered a growth of 28% for the year 2017. The Swedish auto company has managed to sell 2029 units in the calendar year. This is their highest ever sales result for the Indian markets since they entered India in 2007. The car-maker had sold 1,585 units in 2016.
Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India shared, “The Year 2017 indeed has been a record year for us as we witnessed the introduction of some exciting products S60 Polestar, V90 Cross Country and the all new XC60. Successful roll-out of the first locally assembled car, the XC90 emphasises our commitment to India and it is a significant step in our achievement of targets. We are on track to double our segment share to 10% by the end of 2020. 2018 looks even more exciting with a full year sales of the New XC60 and on exciting compact luxury SUV scheduled to be launched mid-year.”
Volvo Cars currently has its dealerships in South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Surat, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Vijayawada, Jaipur, Pune, Ludhiana and Lucknow. The India Model line-up consists of the S60 & S90 sedans, V40 Cross Country, V90 Cross Country & S60 Cross Country, the XC90 & XC60 SUVs, V40 Premium Cross Hatch and the performance oriented S60 Polestar.
