Skoda Octavia facelift variants and features break up
Skoda India is all set to unveil the facelift of one of its most successful models Skoda Octavia. We had earlier brought to you spy pics of the new Skoda Octavia and also reported on what to expect with the facelift of the premium sedan from the Czech brand.
With the facelift launch expected around first week of July, things are getting a bit more clear around the new Skoda Octavia. First of all, the Skoda Octavia will continue with the same set of engines doing duty in the current version; The 1.4 TSI petrol engine which produces around 140 bhp mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the more potent 180 bhp 1.8 TSI engine mated to a 7-speed DSG and the powerful and fuel efficient 2.0 TDI good enough for 143 bhp which comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic DSG.
Variants wise, Skoda Octavia will be offered in three variants – Ambition, Style and Style Plus. We list you here the features that can be expected in these variants.

When launched, expect the premium sedan to be priced at around Rs.30000-40000 more than the current model. The Skoda Octavia will be competing against the likes of Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla in the premium sedan segment, a segment which has not seen much growth over the last few years and has seen some major players pulling out their products due to low demand. The popularity of premium SUVs priced at a similar range is not helping the segment either.
It would be interesting to see whether the Skoda Octavia can revive the segment and with GST mostly favouring it, we can also expect Skoda to price the sedan a bit more competitively.
