Rolls Royce Phantom 2018 model spotted testing once again
We had earlier reported about the 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom that was seen testing under thick camouflage and had even shared spy pics of the same. Recently, we at MotorWorldIndia had also revealed that the all new 2018 Rolls-Royce shall make a spectacular entry in the one of the kind Rolls Royce event “The Great Eight Phantoms”.
Now, to give a clear signal that the development and testing of the all new 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom has reached the final stages, new spy pics of the vehicle has cropped up online which we are happy to share with you.
The new batch of spy pics has surfaced from China where the British luxury marquee Rolls Royce has been testing its latest prodigy off late. The latest pics also seem to give a fair enough idea about the vehicle’s interior.
The interior of the 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom seems to have a black-beige interior color scheme. The design of the familiar three spoke steering wheel, the Instrumentation panel, the circular AC vents finished in silver and the controls housed on the central console all indicate that Rolls Royce has taken an evolutionary approach to the vehicle’s design and has not tried to change anything which does not warrant one.
A horizontal wooden trim running across the width of the dashboard is also visible in the spy pic. While the instrument cluster looks to be a provisional one, chances are that the 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom on hitting the production stage should sport a fully digital and a configurable unit.
Major change seems to be the new all aluminium space frame architecture that will form the basis of all future Rolls Royce models including the first SUV from Rolls Royce stable. This new architecture will help the Phantom shed more weight and be lighter than the Rolls Royce Phantom Mk7 which currently weighs at 2670 kg for the long wheelbase version. The lighter chassis along with the new four-wheel steering will contribute to even better maneuverability.
Sales of the next generation Phantom will start by next year.
