BMW India rejigs its product portfolio, Introduces 330i and M760Li variants
BMW India has re-introduced the 330i variant in the 3-series line-up and has launched its flagship model for the country in the form of the M760Li xDrive.
BMW India, the second best luxury carmaker after Mercedes-Benz India has introduced powerful new petrol variants on the 3-series and the 7-series sedans. The company seems to be turning on the heat after gaining the second position from Audi India in terms of sales. The BMW 330i replaces the 328i that was discontinued sometime back while the M760Li is the most powerful BMW on sale in India and boasts of some nasty performance figures. The BMW 330i will be available in two variants – Sportline and M-Sport, priced at Rs. 42.40 lakhs and Rs. 44.90 lakhs. The BMW M760Li is available in the standard and the Excellence trim, both priced at a whopping Rs. 2.27 crore (ex showroom, Delhi).

The BMW 330i is powered by a 2.0-litre in-line 4-cylinder engine unlike the previous generation’s 3.0-litre in-line six NA engine. It develops 250 HP and 350 Nm of power and torque. It is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission that transfers power to the rear wheels only. There are 4 driving modes to choose from – Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport and Sport+. The M-Sport variant gets sporty looking bumpers, exclusive Estoril Blue paint shade and features like launch control.

The BMW M760Li is powered by a 6.6-litre V12 that churns out 610 PS and 850 Nm. This is transferred to all the 4 wheels via the xDrive system. It boasts of a 0-100 kmph time of 3.7 seconds which is mighty impressive. This powerful new 7-series variant competes with the likes of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 in India. BMW India has also introduced a new 2.0-litre petrol variant on the X1 SUV, priced at Rs. 35.75 lakhs. It develops 191 HP and is badged as sDrive20i. The company has discontinued the 20i and 20d variants of the existing 5-series as it is all set to introduce the all new 5-series in India next month.
