Volvo Car India has launched the latest variant of its flagship SUV – the XC90 in India with a price tag of Rs 89.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2021 XC90 now gets a host of added features which includes a mild-hybrid petrol powertrain. Recently Volvo had launched the petrol mild-hybrid models of the Volvo XC40 and the Volvo S90.
Now powering the new XC90 is the 2.0-litre petrol engine that comes paired with a 48V electric motor that together gives a combined power output of 296bhp and 420Nm of torque. The transmission set up is the eight-speed automatic unit that distributes power to all four wheels of this huge SUV.
The New Volvo XC90 also gets a long list of features added to it which include an advanced air purifier, heated front seats with massage function, a 19-speaker stereo system by Bowers and Wilkins, a crystal gear knob, and a vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment system. The luxury SUV is available in Maroon Brown and Amber upholstery. Standard features include Sensus 9-inch multimedia touchscreen with voice-activated control, a navigation system, and access to the Volvo On Call connected services platform. Other equipment on the list are a power-operated tailgate, LED headlights, a rear parking camera, and keyless entry and start.

The Volvo XC90 also scores high on safety with active and passive features which include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, a 360-degree camera, front and rear collision mitigation support, blind spot information with cross-traffic alert, and park assist.
The new Volvo XC90 is available in four exterior body color colours namely Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Pine Grey, and White Pearl. Volvo XC90 rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7, and Range Rover Velar in its Premium Luxury 7 seater SUV segment.
