2019 Maruti Suzuki WagonR S-CNG Launched at Rs. 4.84 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki has launched the S-CNG version of the 2019 WagonR today with prices starting at Rs. 4.84 Lakh for the Lxi and Rs. 4.89 Lakh for the LXI Option (O) trim where ‘S’ stands for Smart. Maruti Suzuki had launched the 2019 WagonR on the 23rd of January and with the introduction of the CNG version now completes the model lineup.
The clean and green WagonR CNG claims a class leading mileage of 33.54 km/kg which is 26% better fuel economy as compared to the outgoing WagonR CNG. Powering the 2019 WagonR S-CNG is a 1.0 liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine with 59hp of power and 78Nm of torque when running on CNG. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The exteriors and interiors of the WagonR CNG remains same like the petrol version. The WagonR in its latest generation has grown larger in dimensions and now stands at 3655mm in length, 1675mm in height and 1620mm in width. The new gen WagonR has grown by 143mm and a longer wheelbase by 33mm this has added to the cabin space.
In terms of features the 2019 WagonR S-CNG comes with central locking, manual air-condition, front power windows, 12V power socket. On the safety feature list the WagonR S-CNG gets driver airbag, rear parking sensors, speed alert system, seat belt reminder, ABS with EBD as standard. The Lxi (O) trim gets an passenger air bag on the safety list.
Speaking of the Smart CNG system that the WagonR now comes with, this technology ensures high performance with dual ECU and intelligent-Gas Port Injection technology. This technology delivers calibrated quantity of fuel to the engine, leading to more efficient fuel usage, active pickup and superior drivability. The smart packaging of CNG cylinder brings better spare tire accessibility.
Maruti Suzuki CNG vehicle sales contribute to around 15% of the total sales of the CNG range. The company presently offers CNG option in seven of its models (Alto800, AltoK10, WagonR, Celerio, Eeco, Super Carry and Tour S). Cumulatively over 5 lakh customers have selected Maruti Suzuki factory-fitted CNG vehicles. The lower tank position leads to better vehicle dynamics.
Maruti Suzuki WagonR S-CNG will be available in states with CNG infrastructure including Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Mumbai, Pune, parts of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
