2018 Ducati Monster 821 Launched in India at Rs. 9.51 Lakh
Ducati have launched the 2018 Monster 821 in India at a intraductory price of Rs. 9.51 Lakh. Interestingly Ducati launched the 2018 Monster 821 on Twitter.
The 2018 Monster 821 comes powered by a 821cc Testastretta L-twin engine which makes 108 bhp at 9,250 rpm and hits out peak torque of 86 Nm at 7,750 rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox you also get an optional bi-directional quick-shifter and a slipper clutch. The updated motorcycle comes with a all new double-barrel exhaust.
The 2018 Monster 821 also gets an updated LED headlamp that looks identical like the one on the Monster 1200, you also get an full-colour TFT instrument console that comes with smartphone pairing feature. On the looks part the updated 821 Monster has a slimmer tail design and a different wheel design. The instrumentation now also comes with gear shift indicator included on this updated version.
The 2018 Ducati Monster 821 comes with riding modes, the rider can toggle between urban, touring and sport as per the need. Shifting between these riding mode alters the throttle response, ABS and traction control accordingly as per the presets. The ABS system on this motorcycle com es with a three step setting while the traction control gets eight levels of setting. The engine output also changes as per the ride mode selected, for example riding in the urban mode makes the engine hit out 75 bhp and full power output while riding in sport while touring mode gets you a mixed power output. Ducati claims a overall fuel economy of 18.51 kmpl on the 2018 Monster 821.
The 2018 Ducati Monster rides with 43 mm upside down forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle gets all new Brembo Monobloc M4.32 callipers with twin 320 mm discs up front and a 245 mm disc at the rear with a two-piston calliper to do the braking honours. The 2018 Monster 821 will be available in a Special Hello paint shade along with the black and red colour options.
The bookings for the new Monster 821 are now open and deliveries will start by the first week of June across all Ducati dealerships in Delhi – NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi & Kolkata.
