The 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS is powered by a 226 BHP 2.0-litre TSI petrol motor and a 2.0-litre diesel that churns out 181 BHP.
So we all know that Skoda recently unveiled an update for the Octavia sedan that is supposed to hit our market late next year. The Czech company has now unveiled yet another variant for its Octavia, bringing in the legendary vRS badge back to its entry level luxury sedan. So apart from its new “Crystalline” look, the car is lowered by 15mm and a track that is wider by 30m than its predecessor. It gets Skoda’s DCC or Dynamic Chassis Control with three different modes to choose from – Comfort, Normal and Sport. The Skoda Octavia vRS rides on 18-inch wheels although, low-pro 19-inch wheels are optional.

The 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol that develops 226 BHP and 350 Nm. This means it hits 100 kmph in a brisk 6.7 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 248 kmph. The 2.0-litre diesel on the other hand develops 181 BHP and 380 Nm, which takes it to the 100 kmph mark in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 230 kmph. Both engines come with the option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. Although only the diesel gets an all wheel drive system for that added grip around corners.

India did receive the first and second generation vRS models and we expect it to return this time around too. Although we might not get the same engine and transmission options as those sold globally. Instead, we might get a tweaked version of the 1.8-litre TSI motor and 2.0-litre (143 BHP) mill with lowered and stiffer suspension setup and DCC could be offered as well. Until than its a waiting game, but the 2017 Skoda Octavia vRS with the 226 BHP petrol engine mated to the 6-speed manual gearbox would be a tasty recipe. Skoda India we hope you are reading this.
