The Ford EcoSport facelift has been rendered by Autoblog with various references to previous spy shots and it looks properly masculine.
The Ford EcoSport sub 4-metre SUV has been around since 2013 and was responsible for creating its own segment which now has cars like the Mahindra NuvoSport and Mahindra TUV300. Recently Ford gave it more power and added many new features to keep it up to date with its rivals. Few days back the car was spotted testing with camouflage and rumours are that the company is preparing a facelift for the compact SUV. Here are some of the first renderings of Ford’s bread and butter SUV, which now looks more masculine than before. The front takes inspiration from the new Endeavour with similar pull back headlights with projector unit and the hexagonal grille is placed higher up and new sharper looking fog lamps. The sides and rear looks similar to the current car but with LED taillights.
On the insides, the 2017 Ford EcoSport is expected to get an all new multi function steering wheel, a new instrument cluster and a redesigned centre dashboard with a bigger infotainment system. It is still not confirmed whether it will be a touch screen unit but is sure to come with SYNC 2.0 with safety features like Emergency Assist. The interior will also see use of better plastics overall while top models will be offered with leather upholstery on the seats, steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake lever.
The Ford EcoSport facelift will most carry forward all engines which means there will two petrol engine options and one diesel engine on offer. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol develops 125 PS of max power and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5-litre 112 PS petrol will be mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The diesel is a 1.5-litre unit that develops 100 PS and will come mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
